RIP and Help Needed...

Well, those of you that know me or have read my blog a time or two know that I dreamed of a fall wedding. Not kitchy Halloweeny fall wedding, but classic pumpkins and warm fall colors. I envisioned little jars of pumpkin butter as favors and warm apple cider served as an after cake treat. Well, it looks like we will have to put that wedding idea to rest.
Unfortunately, getting engaged in July has posed an awkward time constraint for having the fall wedding of my dreams. Either we rush rush rush and plan things fast and furious for this fall (no thanks, I have enough stress in my life) or we wait over a year (Tim says no way). So alas, I am on the hunt for a new theme. So, I need your help my fellow blogger friends - some of the most creative and inspiring women I know! If you have suggestions on themes, please share. If you come up with a theme I wind up using, I will send you a prize! Good luck and get creative!

dear cousin,
i'm sure your wedding will be great, whatever time of year and theme you choose in the end. Yhe only important thing is the love between you.
But here are some ideas anyway: old lace, winter flowers, snowflakes!
enjoy every moment of planing and preparing your wedding!
love, Katerina of Crete!

Fall would have been wonderful, but if I could get married all over again (with the same man of course!) I would do an icy/frosty/romantic January wedding. That's still not a ton of time, but you could make it happen. The creative things florists could do with flowers and the accessories you could use would be unique and refreshing! PLUS- January is the off season: things are cheaper!! Check out this floral arrangement: http://totallytabletops.blogspot.com/2008/05/fleurish-designs.html

I would do a spring flower theme, using Martha Stewart-y pastel colors. Nothing rainbow-esque, just soft and classic. I will hunt down some pics of what I'm thinking.

I can see a beautiful winter white theme. Elegant crystal that looks like ice. Maybe an ice sculpture made to look like a tiered wedding cake.

Beautiful and warm scents wafting through the air of something to remind you of a cozy and warm fire.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I'm sure it will be lovely.

I think I've got it. You love all things French. How about a French-countryside themed wedding? I am imagining a mostly beige decor with touches of lavender and green. Your cake could be decorated with French flowers, greenery, and lavender sprigs (either real or all in fondant). Think rustic food, french champagne, simple touches like French votive candles (flown in from France, of course) as favors. I have more ideas but that's the best I could do to think on my toes about you, your personality, and the kind of feel I think you'd go for - comfortable yet classy, refined and yet also rustic.

I'm sad about not having the Fall wedding, but you have to do the best you can.
How about a winterwonderland. Paint curly willow white, with little twinkle lights. Have some beautiful snowflakes here and there.
White candles, Instead of fall leaves, have pinecones, just dab with some glue, and sprinkle them with crystal glitter. I could go on and on.
It will be beautiful, no matter what time of year it may be.

I like Athena's idea about the French countryside themed wedding. That truly sounds so elegant.

At the end of the wedding, you could have the guests throw crushed lavender, instead of the usual bird seed or bubbles.

I wanted a winter wedding, but the timing didn't work out either. Looking back a snowy wonderland would have seemed a bit contrived, since it is so sunny and un-wintery here. Summers are so hot... it is hard to not have the makeup fall off of your face. I simply adore the French Country idea. Spring, wildflowers, lots of delicious wine, simple yet gorgeous food. Outdoors... the colors in the photos would be so amazing! If only there were nearby lavender fields and vineyards. Better yet, fill up a plane with your dearest family and friends and head to France and then stay for your Honeymoon. Sort of wanting to redo my whole wedding right now!

I think Jan. would be good, just enough time, but not too long.
New year, and a new start with the perfect man.
To me Jan is romantic, I see doing ...a Rose some where in there..oh wait...nightmare there...or is it? :)
You will have the perfect wedding because you found your match, and you are such a great person. No matter what theme, color it will be so lovely!!
DO NOT DO NOV OR DEC cause I can not come. :( Only babies can come in dec! ;)
